Guest guest
Hi Marie, I'd ask for a copy of your lab results, and make sure he's ran FT4, FT3 and a TSH level. Because of your increased levels of thyroid antibodies after RAI, though, TSH may be falsely decreased. Insomnia and sleep apnea are both symptoms of hypothyroidism and so are palpitations. I have to wonder if he's just looking at your TSH level and it's misleading him. There's always the chance too that you're hyperthyroid but you have similar symptoms to what I had after RAI when I was ill-managed and hypo. It would be helpful too if your doc would also run a TSI level and a test for blocking TSH receptor antibodies. This will tell if your immune system is contributing to these symptoms. Guest guest
Elaine, Thanks Elaine. He didn't run any of the free test. As of Friday my TSH was 2.40. My last TSI was in Oct and that was 299. That is all he gave me. I have to call up tomorrow to have him mail a copy of my labs. But one thing I did notice today is that I did feel a little better after not taking the synthroid for 2 days. He told me that its not my thyroid that is causing this but I don't believe him since he is double talking himself. First he told me to stay on the 75mcg and right before I hung up he told me to fill the prescription for 50 mcg. So I guess he is going by the TSH Marie
Guest guest
Hi Marie, Synthroid has a fairly long half-life so you can get by a day or two without it affecting your blood levels much. So your feeling better could be a coincidence unless you're reacting to the dye in the preparation. Your high TSI could also be causing your levels to bounce around.
