Mark my understanding is that niacinamide and grapefruit seed extract

and grapefruit juice slow down phase 1 which slows down the metabolism

of your liver so that toxins get removed/cleansed more efficiently

I think Sam-e is a NO NO (not 100% on this though, you may want to use

the search tool on this site. It really helps me to review past posts)

I know a lot of med journals mention to be careful with grapefruit

juice when taking meds as I think the slower metabolism caused by the

grapefruit, will enhance the impact of the medication

I have fast phase 1-slow phase 2 and I believe these two items

(grapefruit seed/juice and niacinamide) have really helped with calming

my MCS (mult chem sensitivities) down

TopBroker,

What are you taking dosage-wise of these two and do you also take

anything to counteract the digestive impact of the grapefruit product?

I take

** 1500 mgs 3 times a day of the niacinamide and have found that less

does not work as well

** had been taking a glass of Grapefruit juice 3 times aday with food

and other supplements...just started on the capsules of grapefruit seed

extract 125 mg 3times a day

** I also take 100 mg selenomethionine 3 times aday. Andy says these

three help with MCS and they realy have calmed things down in my

anxiety, fatigue and other problems with fumes

I haven't had any problems with the grapefruit juice. I use it also to

clean my vegetables for juicing. Historically I have had a cast iron

stomach (up until the last 3 years anyway)

sorry to not respond earlier. I have been travelling and starting

dmsa rounds and it has been quite unpleasant

niacinamide actually was at 1500 mgs (3x a day) so I guess thats

4.5 grams. Now I am down to 3000 (1000 3x a day). When I first

started, 3000 didn't do it for me

selenomethionine 100mcg 3 x a day. I think AI says not to go over

300

grapefruit juice. I was buying organic jugs, not juicing my own...I

should probably consider that when they are in season. I have now

started on the grapefruit seed extract (3 times 125 mg)

I think this combination has at least allowed me to function on a

nominal level. Before the fumes in the city would make me very

anxious, depressed , agitated and physically ill
