This reminds me of 2 things. Firstly of when I finished donating milk to

the special baby unit and they told me I had donated 4 litre of

breastmilk (I kept getting this image of 2 large coke bottles with milk

in them )

What amazed me was that the Milk Bank would take small amounts, a tiny

prem baby might only take 5ml for a feed - i.e. a teaspoonful!

I tried to donate milk after Kitty was born - but despite phoning the contact at

the local hospital and leaving 4 messages on the answer phone no one bothered to

call me back :-((

than 1 oz in them that I collected from when Eloisa was like 1-2 weeks and they

nearly feel over themselves to tell me how much they wanted these (apparently

the milk in the first 6 weeks is really suitable for the prem babies)

only 13 places in the UK where they actually have a milk bank very sad that..

but I am lucky in that one of them is actually very close to where I live ;o)

(Kingston hospital Surrey)

Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama

& expecting a Christmas delivery...

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you

start.

So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake.

I feel better already.

But that's the point - there are only 13 places - one of them is near me, and

they still didn't call me back!!! Even if they didn't want it I would have

thought a phone call would have been polite!

Lonnie - you mention there are twelve places in the country who take

donated breast milk, do you know where they are?

Caro - find all you need to know here:

http://www.science-network.com/ukamb/ukamb-main.html

In fact there are now 14 milk banks - one has recently opened in N

Ireland.

I got a letter from UKAMB this week telling me my membership expired

last July. I know it didn't and they are asking for a copy of my

membership card but since it's stuck on my noticeboard in Nottingham

there isn't much chance of that happening. Besides, it's time to

renew!
