I have been taking Tap for about 9 weeks, my endo has now > recommended that I reduce my tap from 3 x 10 mgs to 2 x 10 mgs. > After feeling so much more " my old self " , I started to feel the Hi Cate. Pill splitting may not be necessary; Tap comes in 5 mgs. I wouldn't change doses in more than 5 mg. increments. Discuss this with your dr. so he'll be prepared to do this the next time you need to change your dose. How about going to 15? If you are extremely sensitive then try the pill splitting but do it with 5 mg. pills so you only have to cut them in half to get 2.5. (BTW, there are people here who have split the 5's, which are the smallest they make them, into 1.25 mg. or as close as they can get but you may very well do well with 2.5, or even 5.) It's always good to hear of success stories - that you did feel better after 9 weeks. This is only a temporary setback. Take care and a good new year, Fay ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month! Guest guest
Hi Cate, It is normal to temporarily experience hyper symptoms when you cut your dose; your body experiences the move as if you were moving toward hyperT. These symptoms should only last a few days and no longer than a week. It is customary to reduce the dose after 6-8 weeks on therapy. Eventually the dose will be further reduced as most people can be maintained on a " maintenance dose " of 2.5-10.0 mg Tap daily. Take care, Elaine
