We plan to have a dartboard on the far wall - the room is just the right length to sit on the bog and while away the time by throwing darts - optics containing Domestos/bog cleaner etc, grubby bar towels with which to dry one's hands, assorted beer glasses on the shelf, possibly some piped muzac and obviously a Durex machine on the wall. Guest guest
Or perhaps a hall of > fame where I can hang all our assorted pickies, certificates and > things which lurk about in the filing cabinet! We have this - it is full of my college work photographs and my degree certificate (as it is a Third then it is probably the best place for it) Also because it is seriously minute as a room it is painted very bright orange and has some pretty hand painted pottery in turquoise/orange and blue on a little shelf above the loo. The basin is boxed in, and i did a decoupage of a mosaic design on this in similar colours (it was a freebie in Inspirations magazine) HTH! Their downstairs toilet was entirely decorated with a decoupage of pictures cut out of girly mags. A teacher I once worked with had an area where her child (then 18 months) was to be allowed to paint a picture from time to time so that said child " could trace the development of her art " How about doing it white and then painting creepy crawlies all over it? Guest guest
LOL Our house was only a year old when we moved in 2 years ago and other than the hall and dining room (painted by previous owner) is magnolia throughout. I keep saying I'll decorate the downstairs loo (being the smallest room) and keep thinking along bluey/aqua/dolphin type them, but your idea sounds great - far more of a talking point. Perhaps I need a bit more inspiration (and motivation) before I set to. Todman Treasurer, Stansted Branch (R5) Mum to , 3½ > We're planning a pub theme for our downstairs loo... My bathroom is called the blue room wakes you up in the morning, the walls are a very bright cornflower blue, certainly wakes you up when you go in first thing. I bought a roller kit which you then attached your own fabric to. I found some white heavy cotton which had blue fish and whales sort of potato printed onto it. I used this to cover the roller and also made my own shower curtain with a clear white shower curtain on the bath side. Looks very good, if you can imagine what I'm blathering on about. Guest guest
Ours is painted Dulux Calypso - very very bright lime green! Only a small room so thought we could get away with it. The walls are covered in framed photos, all sizes, mainly snaps, of friends and family. Have piccies of both DH and I at school (dif times and dif schools of course) plus various special moments. Also have done collages of photos from various holidays, christening, our wedding etc, all using cheap clip-it frames from Ikea. Always wonder why people spend ages in my loo but there is so much to look at! (maybe Tracey T can back me up on this one?) Love the pub idea though!!! Beverly WHo must cut out Woman article and add it to the loo wall!

I hate our bathroom, it has a yellow suite and marbled grey tiles all round the walls to half way up. The walls above that are supposed to be white but are cracking and mildewy, hideous! I've had to paint on the plaster with one of these mould inhibitors, then the paint I used on top was one of these dulux ones for Bathrooms. However we do have a dehumidifiers wired up in the bathroom, and in the winter months when somebody has a shower in the evening we turn it on until morning. If we don't do this the mould comes back within a week. It also keeps the bathroom quite warm as well which is an added bonuses.
