Guest guest
Oh Donna, I know what yoou mean about the oxy. It gave me the creeps. I so get it when people call it " drano " . Don't think you are a baby. This chemo is big guns chemo and today when I read that someone else had the same reaction as I did on my last treatment which put me in the hospital for overnight...well. Yet I must tell you the upside and it is that I feel wonderful now, have my house up for sale and am moving to Albuquerque. I have taken a trip to Washington and drove 14 hours round trip because of construction etc and flew out to New Mexico a couple of weeks ago. So these yucky times will pass. Hang in there; we are rooting for you. Karima Re: Re: help with hair - Stomach I didn't mean to scare you but so many said they had no hair loss and many more said they have thinning. Mine appears to be more than thinning especially if I finish these last 6 treatments. I was hoping for the " no loss " scenario! And speaking of stomach pain...I had the most horrible night with a stomach ache, not ab pains. It actually was causing chest pains so I didn't know if it was from the chemo or if I was having a heart attack.. A couple of Nitro pills helped for a couple of hours. This AM I called the onc office and they said to come in. The PA I had to see had no clue, thought it could be the chemo but sent me to my cardiologist for an ekg. The ekg was normal but they told me that between my plavix and aspirin and chemo, it was eating up my stomach. They put me on nevastin and said it would take a couple of days to kick in. OMG, I haven't experienced this pain before. The onc nurse said it would happen more now that I am half way thru. I told them I don't want the oxy anymore. Just give me the 5fu. I am sure we will fight about it on Monday when I go. Here I am being a baby again, just can't tolerate it. Has anyone experienced nose bleeds with this? And, I am using Biotene for the mouth sores. What are you guys doing for dry mouth? The biotene doesn't appear to help increase saliva. brencolinmom@... wrote: OMG. Don't tell me my hair is going to fall out. I am only on chemo number 3 tomorrow. Yikes. I am going to go looking for a wig next week after the effects of the chemo wear off. I hate Oxaliplatin also. I feel horrible on it. I know it is the cause of the stomach pain and that raw feeling I was having (with fever) last week. I also have a form of neuropathy in my jaws - I have lots of pain when I try to bite down on something no matter how soft or small it is. It starts before I leave the oncologist's office. Let's all pray that the Oxy is truly killling those stage 4 chemo cells. I hope it is worth it. I'll quit whining. You are right Ingrid, I was thinking the xeloda would replace the oxy. I remember now. I've read some of you have had pain in the abdomen. What about pain more in the stomach area. Not a bathroom issue - no problem with anything I eat going thru me! Mine has been aching for a couple of days. Maybe I'll call the dr tomorrow.
