Debbie has had a good response from treatment, Her total tumor mass had decreased by about 50% after two rounds, and her CEA has dropped from 72 after her resection, to 27 after the 3rd treatment. Debbie's hand/foot syndrome presented with the bottom of her feed becoming bright red, with some peeling, and swelling. Her fingertips were also bright red, but they didn't hurt as bad as her feet. She was having a tough time walking when she quit the xeloda. This started in the first week of her 4th treatment, and became bad enough for her to quit the xeloda on the 10th day. Are you taking any infusion drugs with the xeloda? Debbie is also taking an infusion of avastin, and Oxaliplatin on the same day that she starts her 14 days of xeloda. Also were you taking any of the nausea drugs? Debbie has been taking an Emend tri-pack, followed by Zofran for about five days after the beginning of each round. These drugs seem like they are keeping her nausea managable. Thanks for the reply, Mike 50% decrease in tumor.....that is just AWESOME... Keep up the good work, Deb... tell that ole body to fight!!!
