Guest guest
BTW - when do people find that they get their DS's reliably dry at night? (life traumas apart) With DD was nearly 5..... Caro I'm also very interested in this thread. DS (3.5) has been dry-ish during the day for a year now (-ish because we still have farily regular accidents - 3 or 4 a week). I haven't even tried him at night yet. I just can't bear to think of having to change the bed in the middle of the night. He is quite a wet wetter at night. We use pampers premiums at bedtime and it is sodden in the morning. He's not in a rush to take if off when we gets up, so some of the wet is certainly from once he is awake in the morning. Even so, it's still very full before he wakes up. His day time accidents are from being too busy with what he is doing to go to the loo. We don't get puddles, just wet pants and sometimes through to the trousers (he then finishes off in the toilet). Part of me thinks he's being lazy at night too and because he has a nappy, he uses it. But part of me thinks, if he can't always be bothered to go to the loo during the day, why should he be bothered at night. No, I'm not brave enough yet. After all the frustration of DS1 not being able to go to playgroup for two terms, I think he really did the whole works pretty much all at once. We still put a nappy on him at night. There are few accidents but since he doesn't object to wearing a nappy, I'm washing nappies for DS2 anyway and changing beds in the night (well, anytime!) is not my idea of fun I've left it like that. One evening when he'd fallen asleep early in his clothes in our bed (taking after his mother there, but at least he wasn't wearing boots!) I thought I'd jsut move him straight to his own bed and put a Pampers care mat under him. He woke in the night sopping wet, as was the bed...but the b**** mat was completely dry! I think it must have wriggled away. I've just bought a seriously snazzy Sam I Am mat and tried it out last night, but placed on top of the sheet it did still move about - and that was with heavy weight Mummy in there too. -- jennifer@...
