Guest guest
Hello Ruthie I feel terribly sorry for you! I kind of know what you are feeling because after I got a virus from someone, and I did't realise I had it I carried on emailing and someone accused me of deliberately sending it to them! Its not nice t and I felt terrible afterwards annd did't want to use the internet any more! I too love reading your posts and have great respect for other peoples feelings and beliefs. Take care and together we can beat those trolls! Love http://groups.yahoo.com/group/the-soapy-group Definition of ' trolls' Having done a search on our archives i can confirm that Lucy Rimer is a troll. She has never posted before, has a free address (yahoo) - not always a pointer of course - and she unsubbed straight afterwards. What they do is join a group quietly and lurk for a day or so. The minute they see anything even vaguely controversial they will do a search on the posters previous posts and harvest some of their former comments (ie Ruthie's mention of her son) and then let rip and quickly unsub - leaving the flames behind them. Why do they do it? No idea apart from being sad, sick individuals. I was on the receiving end of a really really vile one - that made me cry for over a day once - about 1996 when pregnant so pretty emotional anyway. So Ruthie, this person isn't anything to do with this group - and certainly doesn't reflect how we feel about you! Who knows? They must be jealous to see how well we all get on together on this group and want to spoil things. Mine happened on a newsgroup (rec.crafts.textiles.needlework) which had up till then been quite a nice chatty group without too much spamming, but it all seemed to go downhill whilst i was away from it. I joined it again at the beginning of the year to discover that most of the group seemed to be intent on making one member's life a misery - because she didn't speak terribly good english and they were all laughing at her typing..I mean how horrible is that? She wrote English one heck of a lot better than that lot could write Dutch (her language)!!! Anyway I decided life was too short to put most of the troublemakers into killfiles so I left the group. Such a relief to come to this group for a breather from bitchiness )) Caroline
