Does anyone here put any stock in enzymes like No-Fenol by Houston?

With the addition an enzyme that contains zyphenase, xylanase, and

cerecalaise, like No-Fenol, can a person with slow phase II pathways

better digest salicylates??

Hi Robin,

Presumably that would be the case. It is theoretically a good one to

start with as it doesn't contain a lot of proteases and therefore is

more gentle for people with digestive issues.

However, on the Enzymes and Stuff website, it says that *some* people

with heavy metals are not able to tolerate enzymes until they do some

chelation.

I tried No Phenol myself as I have a huge problem with phenols (which

includes) salicylates) and it was a big mistake for me to take a whole

capsule. I got significant reactions like big-time burning for hours.

Then I tried using just a teeny part of a capsule sprinkled on food.

I still got reactions but not as strong. But still too strong for me

to continue to take the enzymes.

You might have better luck than me with it! Many of the kids with

autism use it and have great success with it. I don't want to

discourage you, but only suggest that you proceed slowly, taking a

small part of a capsule rather than the whole thing, whatever you try.

Unless you are not especially sensitive to things.

The Enzymes and Stuff website has a load of information about enzymes,

how to select them, now to take them, etc. And it has a section on

enzymes for people with phenol problems; there's more than one option.

Hope you can find something that works for you!
