Guest guest
Kay.... I know all 'this stuff' can just overwhelm you. I was when I went through my turn... You will feel better and sleep better with the cpap. Lots of us have one. I wouldn't be w/o mine now. Like when I go visit the kids overnight. O2 may well be added for sleep as well. Really, this time it's an easy procedure. Machine will be given to you with full instructions how to use and then it's a matter of adjusting to it. That does take awhile. Be sure and get a mask that fits you well. There is the full face mask and then (I use) the smaller blue gel mask that covers nose only. You'll get all the info. Actually, the cpap will be a good thing, it helps so much and prevents us from not breathing. One day at a time.... MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. NasturtiumsDon't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! my first appt. and stuff hi everyone , i haven't written lately been feeling depressed. I went to the pulm guy for my very first appt. He seems very nice he said the n ipf wasn't there 5 years ago, according to a scan done back then,,,he sent me for a high resolution ct and full pfts with blood gases including a 6 min walk , which i couldn't finish i was so short of breath, my o2 sats dropped down to 86after 2 mins of walking .the blood gas was 68 ?? Then his nurse called me aand said he wants me to have a sleep study done, my o2 levels were not good. So they sent me the very next night,,, the nurse up there said she couldn't tell me anything about the results, but that i would be back for a cpap appt. to get my o2 levels correct with my new cpap machine... Friday the office called to say my breathing was not good at night and it is severe sleep apnea, i had 239 times where my sats dropped in a hour?? they were below 78. So off i go to the sleep lab for my cpap appt. I go back to the pulmo dude on the 18 of may unless they call me to come in sooner . Everything is happening so fast and i am afraid of what will happen next. This group is my life line,Love to everyone Kay R. ipf.09,gerd,ibs,severe sleep apnea,PA
