Guest guest
Hi. I'm thinking of using Life Extention Mix Caps for my husband as a multivitamin rather than downing so many pills. It's more affordable and easier. After reading the label, it appears that he should take 4 capsules a day (spread apart) to get the Magnesium and Vit. B needs met, plus adding extra Molybdenum and Inositol (as well as EFAs, of course) to meet the dosage needs for those. Here's my question. Taking 4 capsules per day will be fine with things like Vitamin E. But it will give him 140 mg of Zinc (his per-pound dosage is 100mg per day), and 800 mcg of Selenium (his per-pound dosage is 330 mcg per day). Would it be bad for him to have 40mcg of extra Zinc per day, and, particularly, 470 mcg of extra Selenium per day? This would be unavoidable if he took this particular multivitamin. It has no copper. Taking this multivitamin (or some other one) will probably make the difference in compliance or non-compliance with him, since he has such a busy life and such a very sensetive stomach. (Plus, I like that we'd only need to buy a new bottle every 4 months since it has 490 caps). Please let me know whether the Zinc or Selenium or any other minerals ought to be limited closer to his per-pound dosage, and not much over. Would it be harmful to go that much over, or not? Thanks
