Guest guest
Dear group, I'm having great difficulty getting any sleep - I'm trying Melatonin and had 2x3mg last night but with little success. Is there any harm in using large doses of melatonin for long periods? I am using Valerian, St JOhns and Gotu cola but nothing is really helping Any advice would be helpful. I am chelating with 12mg of ALA at the moment and I think that I will have to stop the round as my system is pretty bad. Or is it possible to drop the dose during the round? I have a couple of Temazepam off the doc and think I wil have to use that tonight Yours faithfully

Guest guest
When I was really sick I had to take benzodiazapam (Zanax) to get enough sleep. You really need your sleep when you are sick with this and this was a big help for me when I needed it. --- Dave - AM&FDC Posts mercury@...> wrote: > > > < > > Posted by: " robertdavies14 " > robertdavies14@... > > robertdavies14@...?Subject=%20Re%3ASLEEP%20DEPRIVATION> > robertdavies14 > http://profiles.yahoo.com/robertdavies14> > > > Sat Mar 15, 2008 10:41 am (PDT) > > Dear group, > > I'm having great difficulty getting any sleep - I'm > trying Melatonin > and had 2x3mg last night but with little success. Guest guest
I think in one of the files is an old post from andy or maybe it was in AI. I belive he said he ws taking 20 mgs of melatonin Starting melatonin was a great help for me (i was doing 10-20 mgs per night before I had my amalgams removed) Post amalgams my sleep worsened, dunno if it was the chelation or just body releasing stores of mercury but my sleep became worse again..it could have also been stress of adrenals whcih I have read can effect sleep. I ended up taking I think 15-20 mgs of hydrocortisone one night when I woke up and was really feeling sore and achey all over..it knocked me right out (ie i drifted off to sleep) I am now taking 0.5 mgs clonazepan (klonoprin generic I believe)and also up to 15 mgs melatonin and approx 3 grams of magnesium (twice daily-Magna Calm by Longevity Science) Personally I think my poor sleep is a result of many things going on (mercury load, chelation, low adrenals, high blood sugar, low levels of neurotransmitters particularly serotonin which is helped I believe by 5htp) > Dear group, > I'm having great difficulty getting any sleep - I'm trying > Melatonin and had 2x3mg last night but with little success. Guest guest
Just a quick warning on melatonin. It can drive cortisol down, especially in the quantities being talked about here. If you have weak adrenals, taking melatonin may low cortisol symptoms worse at nighttime. I have to balance a very thin line of talking enough melatonin to sleep, and not too much that it will give me adrenal problems. My hormone doctor, Thierry Hertoghe, believes that 1-2mg, taken sublingually, is best. Of course, we all find what works best for us, but I wanted to point out the melatonin-cortisol link here.
