Guest guest
My vote? A resounding YES! The dentists I have dealt with in the past have been bullies. They don't want to hear it from a patient who asks questions. And if this group can help dealing with them, that would be terrific. Best, Robyn ~~~~~~ I believe that this group should allow dental related questions to be asked. The reason I say this is that I have been part of many dental groups and the advice they offer is often wrong and many times outright dangerous. Most are aggressive when you insist on following Andy's protocol. Andy does not specifically address all aspects of dentistry that need discussing, and we are all going to come up against them. So I wonder if we can come to some agreement on how we discuss these issues. Opening a new group seems feasible, but how can we honestly deal with this separately when it is part of the whole? To me we cannot separate dentistry out of chelation. I've been glad that we have been allowed dental posts under O/T (Off-Topic), but I'd like us to feel free to ask such important questions. Or we need to make a FAQ page which I can do if necessary. What do others feel? Were you also at a loss when dealing with the dental component? Thanks, DeanSA

Guest guest
Absolutely yes too! The dental component is vital to the chelation and therefore I think dental discussion is needed and shouldn't even have to be O/T. I am in the pre-chelation dental phase myself (my bottle of DMSA is sitting, waiting for me) and am constantly looking up dental info on this site. Can't find the right info anywhere else. Guest guest
I agree with Dean that dentistry and chelation go hand in hand, and needs to be discussed to some degree on this board. Like in the cases when someone is having trouble with chelation, and we need to tell them to check under crowns for possible hidden amalgam. Now it would make absolutely no sense to ban all dental talk and not help that person. But on the flip-side, I believe this site was created to focus on Cutler's chelation protocol, for those who didn't want to read a bunch of off-topic posts about other chelation methods, etc. It was explained to me that FDC was supposed to stay more on topic and only focus on Cutler's chelation protocol, and more off topic things could be discussed on AMC or A-M, which are more open forums. The past moderator was pretty adamant about this. But is the moderator now, and I am just helping her out approving messages, etc., so the final say is up to her, IMO. So I sent her an email, and we'll see what she has to say.---------Jackie In frequent-dose-chelation Boogie Check wrote: My vote? A resounding YES! Guest guest
Right now TK is not available (if I remember correctly he would let dental questions in as O/T?). He was given the role of main moderator long ago. Jackie and I are moderating the group in his absence. For the time being we will need to give our input on questions like this. I have been letting dental questions in and marking as O/T as I catch them. My thinking is that getting the amalgam out safely is the essential first step towards chelation. I also find that there are not many places a person can go when they get stuck on some aspect of mercury free dentistry. The experiences of members of this group can really help people to get that first step done safely and quickly. There are some people in the group who are here only to read about chelation experiences. For the convenience of those, we can mark dental questions as O/T and they can quickly delete the messages or skim over them. The FAQ page does sound like a very good idea. I haven't been memorizing any dental question answers, so do not usually respond. I know there are lots of posts from Andy on the topic, mostly in autism mercury archives. It would take some time to search for those and pull them together in a file. If we had a FAQ page we could just add them as we find them. J > > My vote? One reason I allow dental questions as O/T here is because the people who are likely to know the answers are in this group. The volume of mail in adult metal chelation has been low lately, which tells me that not many people are following that group routinely. When a dental question comes up we often don't know exactly what to say. This will likely change as people come and go in that group. The number of people following autism mercury is very large, which gives a good chance that someone will know the answer and respond. Most posts are allowed there. People are encouraged to take the adult related questions to the adult groups. I think that by answering dental questions here the person will be less likely to contact Andy directly with the question. Andy must get totally bombarded with questions. If we can lighten his load _maybe_ he will be available once in a while for the important questions that we don't know the answers to. Hi , I also think that we have somewhat of a unique oppertunity here with regard to dental work. Since chelation is a long-term process, this is one group where the same people stick around for a long time and accumulate a lot of knowledge than can be passed on. In other dental groups you find that there is one person calling the shots and often they have fixed opinions and are the only ones that stick around for long. Most other people will only be around dental groups for a while and then leave as the information is so repetitive and limited, and when they have completed the process what's the point in hanging about. Every dental group I have been part of for a while is actually anti-Andy Cutler chelation, which bemuses me. They won't even accept mention of it. So after a while I got fed up and left. >There are some people in the group who are here only to read about >chelation experiences. For the convenience of those, we can mark >dental questions as O/T and they can quickly delete the messages or >skim over them. Yes, making the heading O/T or Dental is fine, as long as people feel comfortable to ask about it. > I think that by answering dental questions here the person will be > less likely to contact Andy directly with the question. Yes, that is true. I have been meaning to get a FAQ dental page together anyway for the livingnetwork site and will work on it. Of course my opinions are somewhat stronger than Andy's on root canals and cavitations, which I think should be addressed as a matter of routine. I also favour Hulda 's dental advice which does not fit within this protocol, so maybe I'm not the best person to handle this project. Thanks again for a great sharing space, this is truly a unique and excellent group. C.U.T.C - Chelate Until Totally Cured :-) DeanSA

I generally don't pay attention to the dental questions. I can't remember the answers anyway. I prefer to find a link where Andy has answered the same question before, but don't have time these days to search for those. Having all 3 of autism mercury, frequent-dose-chelation and adult-metal-chelation available at www.onibasu.come makes searching easy. When you do have a dental page for livingnetwork perhaps I could borrow it and pare it down to the essential details that could be included in our files section. The root canal and cavitation topic can be presented as something for people to consider. I have not read Hulda 's dental advise, so can not comment on that part. I am slowly going through old posts from Andy and will eventually have a list of dental posts. The best ones of those would be included in the dental file, if and when we pull it together. > Thanks again for a great sharing space, > this is truly a unique and excellent group.
