Guest guest
Very interesting Finkle. I had Lymphocytic Colitis, which has gone into remission, but still suffer from Small Intestinal Bowel Overgrowth. Doing some research pre Cutler Protocol and since learning about it, I've come to the conclusion that it would help IBD along with many other diseases, even if mercury weren't a problem I still see benefit of the supplement. So great to hear it's working so well for you. ALA is a pretty powerful substance in the body as you can see. Thanks for letting us know how this helped you. Guest guest
That's a great success story, and I have to say I'm not a bit surprised. My greatest effect from having done chelation is that my psoriasis has all but disappeared, and I'm firmly convinced that psoriasis is rooted in the gut. Guest guest
I have read that Crohn's and mercury go together. Mercury causes the leaky gut that leads to the crohns condition as well as Celiac, diverticulitist..etc, etc. Your history certainly guarantees mercury toxicity. I am glad to hear this is helping you! > > Hello Everyone, > > Reason for writing this post: > I seem to be able to stop my occasional and serious gastrointestinal > symptoms (IBD, Crohns Disease (CD)) by using the frequent dose ALA > supplementation (100 mg, every 3-4 hours during ~4 days) recommended in > " Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis Treatment " . > > Anyone here with a similar experience? Guest guest
Finkle, this is a great report, so glad you've had improvements! Please keep us posted as you go along with chelation. Also, you mention lots of mercury exposures, but you never had any amalgams yourself? Did you not have any cavities, or where they filled with something else? Just curious.----------Jackie ---------More questions, if you don't mind sharing. Have you had a hair test? Do other family members have symptoms of mercury poisoning? If it's too personal, I understand, I'm just curious about your mom and dad being a dentist and assistant. Do you have siblings? How are they?----------Jackie In frequent-dose-chelation finklemcgraw wrote: Hello Everyone, Reason for writing this post: I seem to be able to stop my occasional and serious gastrointestinal symptoms (IBD, Crohns Disease (CD)) by using the frequent dose ALA supplementation (100 mg, every 3-4 hours during ~4 days) recommended in " Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis Treatment " . Anyone here with a similar experience? Comments? Quick summary of my interest in mercury chelation: I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease 15 years ago. Have had gastrointestinal (GI) problems since. Typical disease scenario: good periods (lasting weeks to months) interspersed with bad periods (lasting a few days to a couple of weeks) of the regular obstructional Crohn's symptoms (one of them being waking up sweaty at night with GI-pain and having to go urgently). Reason for believing my symptoms could be related to mercury: Father was a dentist. Mother worked as a dental assistant before, during and after being pregnant. She had two misscarriages before she had me. Amalgam was used extensively at this time (~1980). Mother had amalgan fillings before, during and anfer I was born. As a teenager, I worked a few hours every weekend cleaning my fathers dental practice. This went on for maybe 5-6 years. I also vaguely remember playing with the mercury from a broken thermometer at several occasions (indoors). I was diagnose with CD when I was 13 years old. Effect of Alpha Lipoic Acid supplementation: When I feel that I'm entering one of those 1-2 week long " bad periods " , if I then start a 4-5 day ALA chelation protocol, the GI-problems are typically gone within a couple of days (i.e., after only a couple of days of ALA chelation). Without the ALA, these flares last between 1-2 weeks, sometimes longer. Best regards, Finkle

How long have you been chelating? Did you start with a lower dose? Are you taking the recommended supplements? FYI, the recommended dose and timing have changed somewhat since the book. A lower dose of 12.5 mg is a good starting point and 3 hour intervals are recommended. If you really are doing fine and no problems with 100 mg, that may be okay for you. I would suggest reducing the dose if you have any problems. Higher doses don't remove mercury that much faster and are not worth the potential side effects. The shorter interval of 3 hours is what we advise now. You can go to 4 hours at night, but stick with 3 hours during the day to prevent redistribution. > Anyone here with a similar experience? Symptoms, history, and response to chelation are all consistent with mercury toxicity. Did you ever bother to do a hair test? Not really necessary, but sometimes it gives additional information beyond whether you are mercury toxic, such as whether you have adrenal or thyroid problems, or poor blood sugar regulation. > Effect of Alpha Lipoic Acid supplementation: > When I feel that I'm entering one of those 1-2 week long " bad periods " , > if I then start a 4-5 day ALA chelation protocol, the GI-problems are > typically gone within a couple of days (i.e., after only a couple of > days of ALA chelation). The 3 hour dosing is advisable, though, and I would suggest you adjust that. Keep an eye on symptoms and side effects and reduce the dose if you have any problems. Otherwise, keep it up! -- > Best regards, > Finkle > > >

Guest guest
Jackie, No, my dentist father never put amalgam into my mouth. I have had fillings. Not amalgam, but I'm not sure exactly what they were. I remember them using that blue " light-gun " to harden the fillings once they were in. No siblings. My mother has asthma. She's also had one kidney removed due to cancer. She also has " knotty fingers " (don't know the english word), a kind of lumps on the back of her fingers. She also has imparied hearing and is quite clumsy. Then again, she's 70 years old, so this may not be so extraordinary. Finkle
