Hi Pam,

Your memory is correct. Last month, when I saw this endo for the first time,

he raised my PTU from 450mg to 600mg before the lab results came in. When

the results arrived, they showed a FT4 in the normal range and a TSH of 0

(that's all he ran). He thought I should a TSH of 0 along with my symptoms

warranted my staying on the increased dose of PTU. I have felt better since

the PTU increase, but it also coincided with my getting pregnant, so maybe

it's the pregnancy that's making me feel so much better. Either way, I can't

see any reason to continue on such a high dose. I think the endo wants to

hold out for the labs because I haven't had TSI run in a while and he's

afraid if they're still quite high, the baby could be at risk if we lower my

PTU too much. Still, I'd argue that 450mg is more than enough.

Peace,

Tori
