Guest guest
Hi Jody and Chris- OK you guys. Don't laugh. They're Eleanor and Arthur. The names are kind of old-fashioned but we like them. The Eleanor is after my mom who died suddenly 3 years ago (I miss her so much) and Arthur is after Tom's (my husband) dad. Tom's dad was too so we opted for his middle name (he was a really neat man who died when Tom was a boy). Tavis (my son) is actually named after Tom. It's the ish derivitive of and, no, we're not ish. I just couldn't have all those Toms running around. It would be too confusing. Take care, > Dear - > > I am so thrilled for you! Guest guest
Hi Lovely names. The old fashion ones are 'stayers'. Remember Sky and Moondance they just don't have the same staying power :-) My niece is Eleanor and she is a gem. Cheers Caroline
Guest guest
I think they're both beautiful names. I like old-fashioned names. I named my daughter Hannah , not knowing that everyone else in the world was going to like the same name at the same time. I was hoping she'd be the only one, but there are several her age and younger where we live -- at least Hannah somethings...but I still think it's a pretty, " old " name. Guest guest
, I love the names. I've named all my children after dear departed relatives and it means so much, to the kids too when they're old enough to understand. In fact, yesterday I was going to write that I'd love to hear the names too but we understand that you reserve the right to re-choose when they're born. I guess you still do, but that you won't. Take care, and I hope you'll spend the next 10 weeks or however long comfortably and in good health. Guest guest
Hi - Very elegant and respectable names! Arthur U***** will probably become a prominent lawyer, and Eleanor may become president of the United States. And when they're little, Artie and Ellie are precious. If you're like my younger daughter, though, NO ONE is allowed to call the kids by anything but their full given names. Her oldest boy's middle name is , after my late brother. That was so heartwarming. If she'd had a girl, she would have been named Cayenne . She probably would have been a red hot pepper like her mom (my daughter who does NOT mince words). I gave both my daughters little quirks to their names, to make them stronger (not quite like " A boy named Sue " but.....) The older one goes by her middle name, which I always have, and half my family are known by their middle names. It makes things interesting in these days of computers - people freak out when I say IS my middle name, so I DON'T HAVE a middle name for you! The younger one is officially named " " but not . When she was in the 3rd grade, a boy classmate made the mistake of calling her , and she grabbed him by the collar, jacked him up against the wall, and and FIRMLY informed him of her REAL name..... She's been a hellion since she was a baby. Hope I'm not going to be rambling too much today..... maybe that's a sign of senility? LOL! I apologize. I'm not laughing, I think those names are great! Guest guest
I agree Holly! They are beautiful names, ! I've got a , Emma, and a . Funny thing was nobody was using these names when we picked them out 15 years ago, and just when we had the kids, they were the most popular names. I think the " oldies but goodies " are comming back. Re: Pregnancy Update-Jody & Chris > > > > Hi Jody and Chris- > > OK you guys. Don't laugh. They're Eleanor and Arthur.
