Guest guest
I'm 21 days into Tapazole and yesterday I started getting hives and itching. It flares up in different areas of my body and while its fading in one spot its revving up somewhere else. I had a doctor's appt. today and wouldn't you know it, there was little to show him at that exact time! By the time I was in my car it was on my wrists and ankles and driving me crazy again. As I type, it's all over my back. Anyway, he said lets wait and see what happens because he doesn't want to rush to any conclusions of me being allergic to the Tapazole. Has anyone else experienced this? What did you do? I deleted alot of posts that pertained to itching a few weeks past and now I wish I had payed more attention. Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi, , It's encouraging to hear that your hives and itchiness are fading. I don't want switch to PTU because I want to " save " that option if worse really came to worse. My doctor wasn't concerned and wants me to hang in with it. He said when I call him Friday for my bloodwork results, there will be a good chance he will be lowering me. It is so annoying though! Especially the areas like the palm because all that padding makes it hard to dig in. I feel like putting a nail to it! Do you have another appointment lined up? I swear you have to make appointments in clumps in the beginning, with maybe 2 or 3 doctors at a time because there is an excellent chance they are not going to be supportive of ATD's. Some go through the motions but as soon as they anything crops up they're back to RAI. Don't get too discouraged with these doctors who aren't on your team. Make tons of appointments and eventually you'll find someone you are comfortable with. Was your itching worse at night? Mine is. As a matter of fact it is unbearable right now. I guess there is no harm in Benedryl, I'll have to pick some up tomorrow.
