Has he ever had dry nights?

I have an almost 8 year old who is only dry 50% of the time and that

is an improvement which has happened in the last couple of months.

If he has never been dry then I think maybe you will just have to go

along with nappies or pullups until he is ready. Apart from anything

all the washing gets to you after a while!

Have you tried pampers care mats? At least you wouldn`t get all sweaty

like you would with plastic/rubbery sheets.

Perhaps he is coming in in the night because he wakes up feeling wet

and cold ? I felt at the time that my children couldn`t consciously

'choose' not to wee in the night. For the sake of sleep and sanity I

left my children in nappies till they were ripping them off themselves

or staying dry for a few nights. Even if they were of school age - well,

no one at school need know! Luckily mine were dry at night by 4.

Best wishes

Barbara

I'm afraid I'd go back to nappies I think - saves on the washing. My eldest

is a bedwetter, every night until recently, fingers crossed the last month

or so it's down to about once a week(at one point I was washing sheets,

covers and duvet - 2 extra loads every day ugh!). Next child was dry at

night by 4 - in nappies till then, third child is 3 and 2 months and still

in nappies, and if she's anything like her sister will be for some time yet.

I wouldn't worry at 3. My 5 1/2 year old had her first dry night

yesterday and she's a girl.

From posseting to bedwetting...

And although my pelvic floor is not what it ought, it is my 3 year old - I

do not know what to do.

We put him on the toilet just before he goes to bed, as soon as his eyes

flicker open hes back on the throne, don't give him drinks....and he still

manages to wee the bed. Worse still he often comes into our room......and

well you can imagine. So apart from putting plastic covers on ALL beds and

wearing our waterproof coats to bed WHAT NEXT! Surely not back to nappies

please. I have this kind of philosophy that if the nappy is on then they'll

use it? What advise do you have for me

We are about 60% dry at night but it doesn't take a great mathematician to

work out that that is only every other night with a couple of days washing

grace! The washing is definately getting to me - They should make really

hideous pullups that they wouldn't be seen dead in - to help wean them off.

Any ideas for hideous pullups? Gingham? LOL

I may crack under washing pressure - but it has been about four months

without any nappies so he may not take kindly to going back into them?

Thanks for the comforting thought that I am not alone with this issue

Bedwetting at three? Disgusting! :)

Seriously may you not be expecting a tad too much? My boys (all 3 of

them) bedwet till in their early teens and the girls a bit less.

Tammy puts her two boys in pullups at night just so she doesn't have

to change wet beds every morning, and they're 5 and 8!
