we have one had it since November and I LOVE IT.. NOTHING to complain about I

just adore it..

Gear stick is a dream (esp sitting that high up) car handling is lovely and

visibility is perfect for me.. not had one problem with it so far, and it has 3

full sized seats at the back so you can fit in 3 car seats (2nd stage) if you

need more room for dump trips etc the seats come out easily without any trouble

(and you can fit in a 2 seater sofa I know I did it from Ikea for my friend lol)

and well anything else you want to know just ask..

Oh can I btw suggest that you have a little surf on the internet we found ours

in Chalfont (north of London) and live in Surrey but they had the car nearly 2k

cheaper and a 1.8 model as opposed to the 1.6 we where looking at down in

Kingston.. obviously took a little longer to collect than going the 20 mins down

the road to Kingston but for 2k saving I didn't mind and it gave us a lovely

chance to give it a good test drive going home via the m25..

Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama

& expecting a Christmas delivery...

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you

start.

So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake.

I feel better already.

New Car!

We are thinking about getting a new car, and have been looking at the

Citroen Xsara Picasso.

Anyone got one, or know anything useful about them?

Thanks in advance

Come on ladies - do a test drive and forget what it looks like, feel how it

handles!

I test drove most of the small cars in the range before settleing on my

Micra, I'd left it till last as I really didn't like the look of it, but its

handling way out did the new Fiesta which was the one I liked the look of

most.

And that was 7 years ago now.

Every time my DH mentions a new car and asks my opinion, I say take me for a

test drive and I'll let you know.

We test drove one, thinking of trading in our Mondeo.

Unfortunately Citreon were very sniffy about the Mondeo and

offered a really silly price for it, so we didn't bother in the end. We

found the best price for a Picasso online at autosave.co.uk - Only

problem is that you have to be a church member to get the

discount (not a problem with us). Still thinking about this - or a

Renault Scenic - would like to know thoughts on this as well.

Have you test driven the Picasso yet? It has a really light clutch

which I'm not used to ( the Mondeo is like a tank to drive the

clutch is so heavy) so I was 'kangaroo hopping' along the road

until i got used to it LOL!

Yes, but a Volvo is a Volvo is a Volvo and having owned Volvos for the last 10

years we aren't going to change now! There are however loads of different

accessories to ponder over...

Bit like us and Fords! (DH used to work at the Ford HQ and

actually worked out the pricing for the Mondeo!) Problem is that

we need something a bit more roomy than a Mondeo, but not as

big as a Galaxy and they don't do anything in the Mini-MPV level :(

Have a look at the Volvo V70 - lots of room for three in the back seat - plus

you can get the extra seats in the boot.

Lonnie,

We have been quoted £11,245 for a 1.8 16-valve SX model. Does this

sound good to you? I know it is cheaper than the list price but I

would like to know if I can get it cheaper as we are paying cash.

We are in Surrey too and have seen that price up in Croydon near my

parents, so looks like we will be travelling to pick it up! We are

also planning on getting the new no.plate so collecting on 1st Sept,

but we are off on Hols on the 2nd. I seem to be doing everything with

a tight deadline this summer!!

Zafira is a nice light MPV if I could tempt you to Vauxhall! 7 seats,

the back 2 fold down flat into the boot space (so they are always there

when you need them!) About the length of an Astra (give or take 4

inches) but the space is in the height. The middle row of seats is a

bench which slides forward & back and folds down 1/3 or 2/3.

(It`s DH`s car, I am still in lurrrve with my zippy little Corsa

though!)

We are members of the Civil Service Motoring Association (CSMA) and I

know they have contacts with various companies to give better prices

so maybe it would be worth checking your DH's company to see if they

have any kind of contacts.

Otherwise I would agree with checking the web. Also you always see

these *better* prices for cars imported into the Country but has

anyone dared to do that?

I have never had the luxury of a new car but am quite happy with my

Galaxy.

Unfortunately DH has his own business so we aren't members of any of

these useful organisations!

I will have a look on the web, when I have finished reading all my

lovely messages!

I have never had a new car before either, and I am only getting on now

cos we have sold the house and made a bit of profit from the sale!

and DH hates driving my little 10yr old Citroen AX! He had a couple

of Landrovers for his business but they are all grubby and I won't get

in one with DS, so at weekends we all pile into the AX!

We're looking at the Seat Alhambra, Galaxy/Sharan clone but way

cheaper with more bits.

(will test drive of course , as always ;-) )
