what helped me with the sleep was to have the dmsa dose right next to

the bed. i borrowed a timer used for meditation so it has a count-down

timer on it and a simple single chime to wake me up. if i don't wake

up after 2 minutes it chimes again twice and a little louder. it keeps

doing this escalation thing until i tap it off (and don't forget to

tap again to reset for the next round of 4 hours) if i'm still asleep

after 5 minutes or so it just keeps chiming until i turn it off. never

had to get that far though and i was even wearing earplugs (my partner

snores.. ack)

i set this timer to go off every 3 hours and 55 minutes to be safe.

i also use a red head-lamp that i lie on the table next to the bed and

when i need to turn on the light, the red doesn't disturb my night

vision, my body seems to see it as no light. it's weird. (great for

night hiking as you can see perfectly well in the dark when the

thing's shut off. that's where i learned it.)

anyway, when i was having trouble getting back to sleep after waking

up (so often to pee -- detox!) i used the red light to find my way to

the bathroom and it worked great. i could go right back to sleep. yay.

anyway, i'm glad to report that i had no trouble sleeping on my first

round of 4 nights and so i can recommend this... i barely had to wake

up to down the meds, did it without a hitch.

good luck.

oops.. one more thing on sleep as this was a big obstacle for me for years...

natural remedies that continue to help me from time to time are, as

mentioned, melatonin (taken at 8pm,) the amino acid l-tryptophan

( " doctor " s best " brand finally started making it again) and, finally,

a fizzy drink mix called " ionic fizz " . it's gluten free and i swear by

it. it's a magnesium/mineral supplement that's easily absorbable (was

always a problem with my celiac-destroyed gut). anyway i feel rested

without being knocked out. (slightly off-topic i like tyrosine in the

morning to help with feelings of depression.)

now, i don't know if these things are okay with the cutler protocol

(as i still haven't received my book) and i'm pretty sure we shouldn't

be taking magnesium or other mineral supplements while in the

chelating round but i DO know that they have all contributed to my

getting great sleep and feeling, generally, human during the day.

-----------Sounds similar to Natural Calm, which is a fizzy drink that is all

magnesium, citrate I believe. Others have reported taking magnesium at bedtime

to help them sleep. You can also get magnesium from epsom salt baths (magnesium

sulfate).-------Jackie

-----------Yes, Andy recommends many supplements for a variety of

---------Sounds like you're off to a good start and have some of your problems

under control already, so hopefully chelation will go fairly smooth for you.
