LOL!! I thought I'd stopped bf Kitty (23 months now) as I hadn't fed her

since Wednesday when she bashed her head and wouldn't stop crying, I've just

been to tired in the evenings and have ordered DH to put them to bed, but lo

and behold, she bashed her head again this afternoon and could not be

placated any other way!

- who *really* doesn't want to tandem feed!

Oh I think that is wonderful.. I must say that here while the hv are very

supportive to begin with they don't seem to see the " point " later. I had a

problem with Eloisa when she was 10 months and my hv basically said Oh well just

stand it for another 14 days then put her on cows milk.. NOT helpful when what I

wanted was to get past the problem.. I spoke to nct breastfeeding councillor but

she did not have anything to suggest (but only because I was so well clued up

myself) she did however speak to me at length and made me feel very supported in

wanting to carry on.. Then suddenly as soon as she had started the problem (not

wanting to feed or just feeding for 2 secs and biting) she stopped again and we

went on to feed for a further 3 months when we stopped by mutual consent ;o)..

Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama

& expecting a Christmas delivery...

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you

start.

So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake.

I feel better already.

Re: Feeding your child from 1-3

> And secondly (not as nice) my friend telling me when she went

to her sons 8 month check the hv said how much milk does he

drink a day in oz roughly?? my friend said I have no idea he is

breastfeed and the hv look completely amazed at this.. (I found

that sad as they are supposed to encourage breast feeding but if

you go over 6 months it seems that support goes away)

Not mine - she said 'Oh - well done' - and pointed at Joe and

said 'Look - you are all Mummy's work!!'

Mind you she did used to be the NCT BFC for our branch as well.

It was nearly research papers at dawn when my HV expressed

disapproval and supplied dire anecdote to support her argument that I

should stop breastfeeding because I was pregnant when DS1 was 9

months. I ask you, we starting HVing in Coventry at the same time.

When DS2 was born, she merely said " Well, of course you're the expert

on breastfeeding " and there was no further discussion on feeding :-)
