Guest guest
Hello everyone, I haven't posted for a while, but wondered if anone could help? I recently decided to get more involved with the NCT and am now on the commitee. At our last meeting we found out that we are going to be really short of Antenatal teachers. One has retired, another is moving to Exeter next Spring so we will be left with one teacher. We have a lot of demand for classes. We sometimes have teachers from other areas teaching classes for us. We were wondering if any teachers from surrounding areas would be interested in teaching classes for us - we are close to Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire. Where would be the best place to ask if anyone would be interested? I'm only signed up to NCT coffee. Also any ideas re recruiting trainee ANTs? We do have one but it will be at least two years before she qualifies. Thanks in advance for any help. There are lots of things you can do but they don't always work out right You can do all that you can do and then you have done your best. So you can - start by talking to current teachers, inc those from other branches, would they like to teach more? know of others who would? teach alternative formats - like weekends? - talk to teachers panel - do they know of teachers willing to travel to newbury? - put a message onto nct_announce (I can do this for you if you want me to as only moderators can post) - this way you reach over 700 ncters - advertise thro' your regional mailing - actually you could ask for it to go into the regional mailings for regions 3,4 and 5 because you are on the borders of all three to attract new student teachers try - advertising in newsletter - asking people - writing an article for local newspaper Good luck! Guest guest
Re: desperate need for ANT in Newbury Sue - thank you very much for responding and for all your good ideas. I would be really grateful if you could put a message on NCT announce for me. Also thanks to Debbie Slatter for putting a message on the ANT's list - had two responses from that already! NCT coffee is great! Thanks again.
