Mine comes via Merck-Medco, so I'm not sure about the manufacturer. In the recall information I put in the Files section, I think that King Pharmaceuticals was mentioned. Naturally, I drink a glass of water when taking the pills. I've never had a problem with the levoxyl, but once the teeny tiny cytomel pill refused to go down. It took about three glasses of water to get the little culprit. You can see why it would actually be good for the levoxyl to be quick dissolving, don't you? Assuming you take it correctly, it is going to get into your system faster. At least the manufacturer is attempting to improve the product for the consumer. Thyroid replacement is a BILLION dollar business, and there is a lot of competition for the $$$. For years, the maker of synthroid dominated the market and wasn't really trying too hard to even assure quality or consistency of potency. Now, because they haven't gotten FDA approval because of that, I'm not sure they are even subject to recall. Does anyone know? Given the fact that these companies have a huge captive market, why would they want to fund research into finding cures that do not involve destruction of the thyroid gland?
