Guest guest
Sher, I still have the H1N1 Influenza, more commonly known as "swine flu". I've been on Tamiflu since Friday morning but all that does is hopefully shorten the course of the illness and may also make me somewhat less contagious. It doesn't make the flu just disappear. I'd need a working magic wand for that and mine is broken! Guest guest
Yes, I know the H1N1 flu is the swine flu. Being released so quickly made me wonder if there is some "magic wand" they had to attack the flu. I read your post to Peggy and see where you have to be isolated for awhile....will your folks be OK? I'm sure you thought of this, just a question... Better days ahead girl! MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. NasturtiumsDon't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Getting Sprung! Guest guest
Oh Honey Girl I am so glad you are home. Is there anyone to help your Mom care for you? Sleep well. Love Ya. Love & Prayers, PeggyFlorida, IPF 2004'To get something you had, you have to do something you never did'When God takes something from your grasp, He's not pushing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. PeggyThanks for all the prayers! You know how much it means to me.Mostly I'm just feeling really really tired. No real appetite and just too exhausted for words. But I'm home now and this is where I'll be able to get some rest. Hospitals are a lousy place to be sick. I mean Duke is fantastic and I'm so happy to know I'm that close to such a high standard of care but as Dorothy said, "There's no place like home".I have to stay on the Tamiflu for another 5 days and stay isolated till the 28th. Guest guest
Sher, I know, you know. Forgive me I'm probably not expressing myself very well. I'm so so tired. I am able to isolate myself in my part of the house. I have my own living room, 'kitchenette', bedroom and bath so I can be fairly separate from them. Being on the Tamiflu makes me somewhat less contagious and my parents are also on a reduced dosage of Tamiflu to help prevent the virus from taking hold in their bodies if they do end up exposed. The good news for me is that the doctors believe that this course of H1N1 that I've had is likely to confer some immunity on me in the event the virus springs up again in the fall. I will also be getting any type of vaccine that they come up with between now and then. I feel as though I dodged a huge bullet this time. This could have been disastrous so I'm hoping and praying that my recovery continues and this ends up just being a good story to tell. Forgive me I'm probably not expressing myself very well. I'm so so tired. I am able to isolate myself in my part of the house. I have my own living room, 'kitchenette' , bedroom and bath so I can be fairly separate from them.
