Guest guest
Hi. For the past week, I've had my dear husband started on supplements. I went based on per-pound dosages Andy described in other posts (onibasu). He just got all his fillings out 5 days ago. He's been on Natren Healthy Trinity Probiotics (one capsule every morning) for the past month, as prep for his very sensetive stomach, before starting the supplementation. For the past couple days, he tells me he gets mild stomach pain after each time taking the supplements. It lasts about an hour. It makes him not want to take them, but he does anyway. I need to find out what's causing this. One particular supplement? A particular brand? Taking so many at once? He also says for the past 3 days, he's had diarreah. I think that must be from the Magnesium, right? I'm guessing he's getting more than he needs, exceeding bowel tolerance, right? Here's his daily dosage. Keep in mind that, starting on 3/25, I started him with loading doses of these things, like I read in an Andy post. It said the loading dose to take the mineral daily doses 4 times a day for one week, after which you go to just one daily dose a day (instead of 4 times per day). For example: his dosage-per-pound of Zinc is 100mg/day. That means his loading dose for 7 days is 100mg, four times per day. Then it'll be no more than 100mg of Zinc per day (spread out, though). I don't think it's his Vitamin C, CLO, milk thistle, or probiotics, because he was already taking those without stomach pains before I started him on the following in loading doses: -B50: 3 or 4 times per day. -Zinc: 100mg x 4 times per day. -Vitamin E: 800 mg x 4 times per day. -Mixed Carotenes: 1 pill x 4 times per day. -Selenium: 330 mcg x 4 times per day. -Molybdenum: 860 mcg x 4 times per day. -Magnesium: 1720 mg, SPREAD OUT through the day (8 200 mg tablets of Magnesium Citrate per day. Maybe 3 for breakfast, 3 for lunch and 2 for dinner). Please let me know what you think. I've already backed this off to 3 doses per day of most of this stuff, instead of 4 per day, since it's bothering him. But even so, it hurts his stomach. Advice?
