Guest guest
Hi , hang in there, I'm all mucked up too! More comments below, all the way down.------Jackie In frequent-dose-chelation jodi2ben wrote: --- Hi Yes I am taking Armour thyroid and am on prednisolone for the adrenals too. I am also addressing female hormone problems but everything has proved difficult despite mine and the Doctors best attempts. I think the mercury has mucked everything up so much that there isn't much I can do apart from keep chugging on with the low doses of DMSA. ---------All my hormones are all mucked up too, so I understand. Keep working on them, but I agree that we have to keep plugging along with chelation. What type of testing have you done, blood or saliva, and what type of doctor are you working with?------Jackie The only time my hair loss stopped was when I got my ferritin up with iron infusions. (I think that was the reason). But it has dropped almost nothing again within months as my periods are still uncontrollable. I also think that I was actually MORE ill when the ferritin was in normal range so I am in no hurry to repeat the infusions. -----------How low was your ferritin? Mine was 4 two years ago. If you have HTI book, read about iron in there, Andy explains exactly what happened to you, feeling worse by raising your ferritin when you're toxic. The iron is causing oxidative stress, and your body is trying to protect itself by keeping your iron low, so that is why your ferritin dropped again after the injections. This is a sign that you need to take more antioxidants, and this might allow your body to raise its ferritin levels. I also had heavy periods for years, and over a year ago had an ablation while having a D&C done, so I barely bleed anymore. This has been very nice. Although at the time, I didn't realize that my problems may have been caused by severely low progesterone levels. The OBGYN tested my blood levels of hormones, and told me I was fine. Now that I have done saliva testing of hormones, I have found a number of them are low and/or out of balance. So if you're working with a mainstream doctor on hormones, they might not catch your problems. Anyway, since having the ablation, taking lots of antioxidants, and taking a highly absorbable form of iron with Betaine HCl at meals so it is absorbed well, I have been able to raise my ferritin to 51. And I remember going through a period where my body must have been ready to correct this, because I craved red meat like mad! So be patient about the iron thing, and the easiest thing you can do right now is to take more antioxidants like Vit C.----Jackie I think you are right about the adrenals - mine are pretty much useless now. They were bad before chelation but now my Doc thinks they are pretty much lifeless. So I do realise it's going to be slow :-( --------- is probably right, chelation has gone slow for me also, but my adrenals are pretty beat up, so I guess we're all in the same boat.--------Jackie You do give me some envouragement though - by saying that the DMSA HAS to be removing some of the mercury.:-) ----------Yes, taken properly, it has to be removing some. So hang in there and stick with it!----------Jackie Thanks In frequent-dose-chelation , " " wrote: > > One clue you have given me is when you say you have lost too much > hair. That could be a thyroid symptom. --------I don't remember the exact connection, but I think your body needs ferritin to use your thyroid hormone, so this makes sense with what you said above about your hair not falling out when you took iron injections.--------Jackie > amalgams removed. So I'm in the same boat as , either very toxic, or slow going because of adrenal and other hormone problems.---------Jackie > > Because of the nature of DMSA (two thiol groups on each molecule) it > has to be taking some mercury out as you chelate. You just have to push through it and keep chelating. And then at some point, you should start to see improvements again.-----------Jackie > > 3) I managed to get up to 25mgs every 3 hours but have had to lower it > > back down the 12.5mgs because I am in the 9 month dumping period it > > would seem :-( ----------I think many people have had to lower their dose for a number of reasons. Better to chelate at a low dose than not at all.-----------Jackie > > > > 4) I haven't had any symptom improvement at all. And I have recently > > had a Panoramic xray to double check there is no amalgam in my mouth. -----------Good to double check. But like I said, you may be in the stall period, or there may be other things hampering your progress. Messed up hormones could definitely be part of this.-----------Jackie > > > > 5) I can't face another hair test as I am still losing my hair and > > there is not enough left to have a hair test without the patches > showing! ----------Could you use the hair that has fallen out, just making sure you use the end that was closest to your head?--------Jackie > > > > 6) I can't go near ALA yet - it made me very very ill at 3mgs. -----------I also recently tried ALA, and 6mg knocked me out! And I am 2+years post amalgam removal! I do also have arsenic to deal with also, which may play into my reaction to ALA. At least you tried it, and now you know you're not ready for it.-----Jackie > > > > This is all so miserable. There is probably something you haven't identified and addressed yet that is causing you to struggle with chelation. Just keep searching for answers, and hopefully you'll figure this out! Just hang in there!---------Jackie > > > > On a brighter note - am I correct in thinking that if I was just > > stirring things up and not excreteing the mercury at all, I would be > > feeling much worse? -----------Yes, that would probably be right.-----------Jackie > > > > > > ---Rest of message deleted----- Messages in this topic (6) Reply (via web post) | Start a new topic Messages MARKETPLACE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Earn your degree in as few as 2 years - Advance your career with an AS, BS, MS degree - College-Finder.net.
