Guest guest
After eight months chelation with DMSA (17mg) I am coming to the conclusion that it is irritating my liver. I have Gilberts syndrome, and am therefore sensitive to drugs. On round I get blood sugar issues, blurry vision and liver pain - these diminish disappear off round. So I will do ALA only from now on. My question is - how will I get rid of the other metals that I have, that ALA does not chelate? I know that I have lead and tin - will getting rid of the mercury mean that my body can get rid of these by itself? thanks Nicola
Guest guest
You can use EDTA (dosing every 8 hours) for lead if you don't tolerate DMSA. Keep in mind that unlike DMSA, EDTA depletes essential minerals. So you will need to aggressively supplement those. ALA MIGHT chelate lead as well, but is " of unknown effectiveness " for lead according to Andy. But it does improve brain biochemistry in lead poisoning. Later you can use EDTA to remove the lead. Delaying EDTA will address the concern about using it in mercury toxic people. --

The lead will need to be chelated to get it out of your bones. It seeps out slowly, so it is only necessary to do DMSA rounds once every month or two for lead. Do you think you could tolerate a DMSA round once in awhile, and use ALA most of the time? Otherwise, you'll have to wait till your mercury is gone, and then use EDTA for the lead. Not sure if that will be any better for your liver or not.-----------Jackie thanks Nicola _._,_.___ Messages in this topic (1) Reply (via web post) | Start a new topic Messages MARKETPLACE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Earn your degree in as few as 2 years - Advance your career with an AS, BS, MS degree - College-Finder.net. Guest guest
Hi Jackie and Yes - this is what I shall have to do and hopefully I will tolerate the ALA OK. I am a bit concerned about all this lead and hanging around though, and I am convinced that these two metals explain the metallic taste I have had continuously for the past six months. I had a hair test done last week, which showed that my lead has gone up and my thyroid has got much worse, so I think these two are connected. It may also explain why my liver is not tolerating the DMSA, as the Gilberts and hypothyroid are strongly connected. I shall give the DSMA a break, bring up thyroid levels again and hope the lead and tin don't do too much damage while they hang around. Chelation was going so well too ... :-( On round was the only time that the metal taste went.
