Years ago my mum had a Princess and a similar thing happened to her reversing

out of the garage - she demolished the front wall and backed straight into the

road. Had no control over what was happening. It was also an automatic.

I'll stick to stick shift thanks!

We had quite a long look last year, but unless it has changed radically

it wasn't such a good deal as it first seemed, hefty deposits then a

lengthy wait before getting the car. Haggle I reckon ( once you over the

embarrassment)

Trisha

I have a friend who bought a scenic around the same time we did and she also had

problems with the immobiliser. (only with one key though) so perhaps there was

some sort of problem with it? I must say though that we didn't have any trouble

in that area with ours..

Indecently I know 1 family who drives the Vauxhall Zafira and they love it. we

did test drive that one but neither of us liked the really incredibly light

clutch...

and I know a family who drives the Multipla (Fiat) and both of them are really

happy with that choice. I however refused to even test drive the Multipla as I

simply would not have the nerve to drive around in a car that looks that naf....

(sorry don;t mean to offend anyone but I just think that car looks stupid. it is

getting great write ups though)

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you

start.

So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake.

I feel better already.

Me neither, I think they are sooooooooo ugly.

I've never been able to say that in real life as my SIL has one and would be

motally offended, but it's so good to get it off my chest! (Don't tell her,

!)

My friend absolutely adores hers now - but her DH took her to test

drive it - screaming and kicking. She swore she would never drive

anything so ugly.

The inside must be wonderful as she is SO HAPPY driving it.

BTW Ruthie, had a good look at the new convertible Astra coupe last

week -

> it's gorgeous, really a much prettier car than the escort cabriolet.

Anneliese: if you know about cars, can you tell me if the remote

control roof closing thingey requires you to do up the clips by hand

like you do on the escort, even after the motorised closing? If so, I

don't see the point of it being remote control, cos you still have to

go out and close the clips.

I have seen pics of the Astra, and it does look a beautiful car,

especially since it doesn't have that horrid central bar which spoils

the look of the escort and other cheaper cabriolets of its class.

I wonder how much it costs......
