Guest guest
Until we moved here (2yrs ago) I used to play netball a lot (twice a week, then there was umpiring and junior coaching). Wedding rings originally were the only rings you could wear and tape when playing. My ring finger got bent back one day within the first 5 mins of a game (game lasts and hour). It hurt like hell, but stupidly I left the ring on. The following morning I couldn't get it off, and the finger was going black. At the time I was working in London and walked to A&E. I was assessed and said I didn't want the ring cut off (it was only a year old). An xray showed it was broken and they told me I might lose the finger if I was going to be stubborn. After stewing in the waiting area for an hour, I decided I would have it cut off and suddenly I was a priority case and seen instantly. The broken ring got given back to me. It is a 3 coloured gold ring. I had it mended, but because my finger was a ring size bigger after the accident, the colours no longer join up and the join is evident if you look closely enough. Also meant that I had to get my engagement ring stretched too. It's a bit of a shame, because now I've put on weight, they could do with stretching again, but I already know there's no stretch left Todman Treasurer, Stansted Branch (R5) Mum (with 2 wonky ring fingers due to netball injuries) to , 3½
Guest guest
While we're on rings, has everyone's wedding ring gone oval, or is it just mine that is no longer round? Todman Treasurer, Stansted Branch (R5) Mum to , 3½

I have friends in Hatton Garden and I should know )) They just add more gold to it. If you like the design and want it made bigger, it shouldn't be a problem. Guest guest
You'd be surprised at how much stretch there is in a ring!! My in-laws are jewellers and I've seen customers' rings come back year after year to be eased up a size or 2! But my wedding ring is really chunky so I'm hoping it won't happen. Had it happen to other rings I wore in the past. Janet

Guest guest
As we got married in Denmark we obviously had the Danish wedding service so I never did promise the love and honour etc ;o).. In Denmark (as far as I recall) it is something in the style of do you take this man/woman to be your wife/husband? Will you love and comfort him and live with him/her until death parts you.. You answer yes to both of them you do not do the I Lonnie Gudrun take thee ;o).. So I guess I didn't know that it was called the Solemn wow.. But one more Q how did you manage to get all that engraved into the ring?? Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already. Re: Rings > > What is the solemn vow?? is it the to love and honour bit or?? All of the vows you take when you get married, the whole lot. If you take a step back and really take in what you are saying - it is a very serious formal commitment you are making. *** NCT enquiry line - 0 *** Live chat http://www.yahoogroups.com/chat/nct-coffee Have you found out about all the other groups for the NCT online? Guest guest
, I was at a 10th anniversary party on Sunday admiring my friend's new eternity ring - then she said " the downside is Mark is expecting me to get him a grand piano in return " !!!! Anneliese and Baby Tim (but I live in hope of my DH - we walk past a beauty salon on the way to Sainsbury's every Saturday and last week he said " Are you interested in that? Would you go for a manicure or something? " so maybe, just maybe, next birthday.... next step the sparkly...) Re: Re: re:rings > > Donna did you get a eternity ring after the birth of your first child?? My DH said I could have one for our 10th anniversary, only 7 to go! ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________
