Guest guest
I had prostate cancer in 2002 and all has been great in the prostate area since then. Then I had colon cancer in 2004. After being diagnosed with prostate cancer I spent hundreds of hours doing research and visiting message board, Everything seemed doom and gloom. Then I realized that most people were on the message boards because they were having problems and may not represent the majority. At my last prostate cancer meeting my Dr. said even if I had a recurrence which is unlikely he could keep me alive another 15 years. I wish colon cancer progressed so slowly. I really appreciate the message boards and what they do but once in a while we have to remember there are a lot of success stories about colon cancer we never hear about because the people with no problems are less likely to spent time posting. I do enjoy hearing about our ned population. I really love to hear the sories of our stage 4 people who are surviving. People tell your success stories. As a number cruncher I encourage people to be as specific as they can when they post. Saying my cea was 4 rather than my cea was elevated provides a lot more information

Guest guest
I can understand the doom and gloom one feels. I feel the same way. The more research on message boards the more depressed it can make you. Yes, there is a lot of posting of the worst that can happen. Yes, there are alot of survivors. But then we hear so many who have so mamy problems. It is individual to say the least. We are all terrified what the colon cancer will mean to us. All we can do is Pray and hope for the best.
