This reminds me of when dh and I got [married as we wanted a friend to read out

a poem or something meaningful halfway through. As this was to be in English and

dh is not religious it was important to him that this was not from the bible..

So a friend of ours said Oh easy use your favourite songs..

Well mine starts.. I feel so unsure as I take your hand and lead you to the

dance floor......

and dh's goes.. I am sad to say I must be on my way so buy me beers and whisky

girl I'm going far away LOL.... needless to say we didn't use either lol...

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you

start.

So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake.

I feel better already.

All of the vows you take when you get married, the whole lot. If you

take a

step back and really take in what you are saying - it is a very

serious

formal commitment you are making.

I had to chuckle when I read this. When and I got married, we

did it in a cafe in memphis at sunset.. (Eloping avoided the family

wedding stress stuff), and our wedding vows were made up from lines

of Elvis songs.....I had to promise to always have on my mind,

and he had to promise to never have a suspicious mind!!

The minister said he'd never had a divorce (he'd done 500 weddings)

because you needed a good sense of humour to get married his way!

We designed our rings ourselves and had them made up at the Craft

centre in manchester...it was cheap and they are very unusual...mine

is white gold with 7 tiny garnets, and his is blackened gold...very

subtle. He now often has jewellery mad for me. (I'm very luck!)

Yep - we had an emergency dash over there just before our wedding

when the platinum ring to match mine for DH looked totally wrong on

him. They sorted out a nice rose gold one (looks like a bit of

plumbing but really suits him) on the spot - they had to scurry

around at closing time to get it polished up.

(I was pretty amazed he wanted a ring, I had him down as one of those

who would be dead against, but when I asked he said " Of course " )
