Guest guest
Having read 's piece (which I thought was very good) and all the other comments, I just had to read Alice Miles' article - which I have just done. And I have to say - that it wasn't as awful and bigoted as I thought it was going to be from the replies and comments I'd read. Actually, I have to say that I can see where she's coming from - OK some of her comments were a bit one-sided - but not that different from those of many single, childless women. As I read it - what she was saying (or at least trying to) was that society has a responsibility to children, and families - whivh I have to say I agree with. OK her comments about working mums etc. were wide of the mark, and she was very sarcastic about parenting at times - but essentially a lot of what she said had a ring of truth. So give the women a break :-) Debbie Slater Perth, WA
