Guest guest
Ok , Joe got home from the mall with kids about 8pm , he went in and checked on mom , and then came into our bedroom and said she needs to go in. The following will tell you how sick mom is , normally when mom has to go to the hospital , she is the type that HAS to shower , dress in nice clothes , fix her hair ETC ETC. And she balks all the way there. Tonight she said ok , she did NOT even get out of her nightgown, we just put a robe over her and a pair of slippers on and she went like that WILLINGLY!!!!!!!!!!! They put her right into a emergency room , so she didnt have to wait in waiting room with all the rest of the sick folk. However thats the fastest thing they did, 9:pm she is in room , stomach hurting bad , especially when she lays flat 9:15 nurse Chuck listens to lung and wants urine sample , give mom hospital gone to put on , no baggie to put clothes in. 9:45 mom is FREEZING , wants blanket we ring for Chuck , no one comes, 10 minutes later they FINALLY answer call , 10:10 we flag someone down in hall to get a blanket!!! 10:30 We havent heard or seen Chuck since he first came in , finally flag him down in the hall , mind you they havent even taken blood , started IV NOTHING . 10:45 Chuck comes in to get blood start IV for fluids ( and why wasnt this done sooner who knows) , says they are going to have to insert a catheter, because the urine sample wasnt enough. 11:00 Nurse comes in puts in folley 11:15 Doc comes in , very nice man , askes question, then palpitates moms stomach to which she about hit the roof, from the pain , I am looking at the doctors face and he is frowning , and says hmmm it hurts really bad there but pain all over ? mom says yes. He had explained about the chemo and the lining of stomach which we already new ( I should be a nurse ) 11:30 they say have to run blood tests and urine test , would take about an hour and she may have to stay overnight to get rehydrated. I have come home to put the kids to bed , mom and dad are still there with instructions to call me if anything different comes up. (We live 3 blocks from hospital , If I ran I could be up there in under 5min but then I would have to be admitted.) Please say a prayer for mom , it bothers me that the extreme stomach pain is left of the bellybutton , thinking colon cancer of all things , we shall pray that its not and just the chemo , however , I know for a fact she has had issues with diarrhea before chemo , just NEVER this bad , but bad enough for me to keep pestering her about a colonoscopy which she hasnt had done yet . DAM stubborn woman Thanks for the support prayers , and everything else Deb 33yrold husband Joe, was diagnosed with CC in Sept, resection on Sept 27th 2004 found mets to the abdominal wall lining 3 lymph nodes involved open wound from infection until Jan 2005 Ileostomy reversal Dec 7th 2004 Chemo regiment begun Jan 2005 5fu/levorican/Oxaplatin/ Avastin added Feb 14 2005 (Happy Valentines Calcium Magnesium added for the Tingles Feb 28 2005 Ct Scan done March 23rd 2005 , 16 millimeter cyst like object on liver found April 1 2005 PET scan done awaiting results April 11 PET SCAN SHOWS NED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
