Guest guest
This is interesting. Doing research into ALA and DHLA I ran across this. Dihydrolipoic acid inhibits skin tumor promotion through anti- inflammation and anti-oxidation. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez? Db=pubmed&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=17403519 " DHLA/LA significantly inhibited lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced NO and PGE(2) formation in RAW 264.7 cells. " This would seem to imply that ALA would be beneficial for those with bacterial overgrowth that is causing damage or a leaky gut. Boy, I really wish I could start taking it now, but I still have to wait 3 months until after the first week in January when I get the last amalgams removed. Another win for ALA for sure. Thanks, Mike > What is interesting is that, on a limited search of Pub Med, it > appears that bacteria, specifically lipopolysaccharides, play a role > in liver injury and thus elevated liver enzymes. I have had a history of Candida and allergies. I am wondering if this baterial growth which causes leaky gut is also caused by Candida. I seem not to do that well with dmsa alone as it seems to disrupt my digestion. ALA seems to work much better for me. Maybe that is because I have the leaky gut syndrome? kat > > >
