Guest guest
Hi , I'll reply to the adult tests here and to your kids' tests on the kids group. > > Comments & thoughts will be sooo appreciated. These two, my add kid & > his wife, have been working on getting supps " in place " since getting > these tests. 3-ish weeks now. Andy has a large section in the book on other supplements that help with specific problems, so you may want to have these two review that section for ideas. > ...had selenium yeast - think'g it is problem, took it out for now. Selenomethionine is a better bet. I would start with a low dose in case there is an issue with tolerance. > ...my son does take spirulina, " as needed. Spirulina is sulfury. High cysteine people will have trouble with it and normal cysteine people may develop a problem with it. A low cysteine person, who needs more sulfur, will find it less expensive to get their cysteine from diet instead of spirulina. The only way to be sure about sulfur status is a trial of exclusion and then eat a sulfury meal and observe response over hours/days. Recent discussion of this subject has included lists of sulfur foods, which you can also find in files and in Andy's book. Could be other reasons for reacting badly to spirulina, too, but sulfur status would be the first thing to check. Sometimes people crave their problem foods. > HAIR TESTS > ************* > > My add kid's test results. He is 21yo. He has taken supps regularly, > tho' not daily. I expected to see adrenal symptoms - the two up, two down for Adrenal signs do not always show up on hair tests, even when there are issues. If symptoms suggest a problem, a saliva test can be useful, or he could try some adrenal cortex extract and see if symptoms improve. > cal, mag, sod & pot - not there (??)...to me, his elements definitely > indicate mercury...for him, fillings as a toddler & exposure to > malathion a year/two yrs later would be big contributors...he has no > metal fillings - his toddler fillings fell out within 6mos of being > put in. Your 21yo's test counts normal, but the very low mercury makes one wonder. Undetectable lithium is commonly seen with mercury problems. I can't see the pattern when the results are presented this way, so I don't know how it compares with the " normal-looking " tests in Andy's Hair Test book. Also note that old exposure and mercury in the brain won't show up on the hair test. Some people have to establish the diagnosis with a trial of chelation. With no fillings, he could start right away. Na/K is at the low end of the range. If symptoms, such as low temps, suggest a thyroid problem, you may want to investigate with blood tests and treat. > > My dil's test results. She is 24yo. Again, a surprise, no adrenal > signs??. Your dil's test also counts normal. Again, supplements (and other interventions that improve how a person feels) can make the test appear more normal. However, the very low mercury is suggestive and undetectable lithium is common on toxic tests. She will need to have fillings replaced before trying chelation. > RATIOS > Elements Ratios Expected Range > ======================================= > Ca/Mg 4.84 4-30 This suggests poor blood sugar regulation. Frequent meals/snacks with protein, limiting simple carbs, and chromium with meals can help. I will try to look at the little ones' tests and post on the other group about those. --
