Guest guest
I always find this whole school uniform thing really weird having never worn one and not once in my childhood seen one (I don't think there is many schools in Denmark where they are used) But having said that I now think it is kind of sweet when I see a load of kids in their school uniform.. Phoebe's will be red gingham (the kind you can buy in M&S LOL) I have noticed something in my English friends who all had school uniforms.. so was wondering if this applies to you. but of all my friends I have checked this with (and that is over 20) they all to this date have problems wearing the colour that their uniform was does this apply to you?? I guess that as most of them wore brown and orange this is not to much of a problem but I did have one friend who wore navy and finds it annoying that she feels bad about any kind of blue... Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already. Re: What to do ... ;-) As they were reduced in M&S, I got dd1 three school summer dresses in the navy check that she will need for next year - << Oh you are lucky. My DD has to wear the school dress which has a distinct pattern and colour and you can only buy from the school - £16.99 per dress! As a result everybody only buys one, which you can then wash out in the week - luckily it dries overnight if left hanging in a doorway and doesn't need ironing. Guest guest
Well, I come from an era where uniforms were only worn at secondary school, so can't speak for those who have worn them from primary. However, my school uniform was navy and white, with a striped green tie (looked better than it sounds), and I have to confess that the majority of my wardrobe is blue of some description. But maybe that's more to do with the fact that I'm an Aquarian ;o) Alison I have noticed something in my English friends who all had school uniforms.. so was wondering if this applies to you. but of all my friends I have checked this with (and that is over 20) they all to this date have problems wearing the colour that their uniform was does this apply to you?? Guest guest
but I did have one friend who wore navy and finds it annoying that she feels bad about any kind of blue... There is a particular shade of french navy that gives me the shivers - not school uniform but the old colour -UGH!!! After 18 months of wearing the '' (as it was called) I was so thrilled to transfer to head office where there was no uniform. At school we had a rather nasty custard yellow blouse which i would never wear now - more because yellow just doesn't suit me (dark auburn/pale skin) Caroline

However I find it hard to wear a navy skirt or a pale blue blouse but would happily wear a navy T-shirt, jumper or trousers. My primary school uniform was grey and I have no problem with this - would happily wear grey. I love the fact that my kids wear school uniform. I don't think I could cope with my daughter spending ages every day deciding what to wear, LOL. Also cuts down on general clothes buying as they only need stuff for weekends and holidays. Yes, I have to admit I am quite looking forward to dd1 going into reception next year and wearing uniform - ATM we stand in front of her wardrobe every morning and debate the pros and cons of what she is going to wear to nursery that day! And this is at not quite four - I dread to think what she is going to be like by the time she is a teenager. Cath

Guest guest
Yep Lonnie - I am one of these people. All my uniforms were navy and I hated to wear this colour until - I can't really remember when I softened but methinks it was during the past 10 years or so. I have noticed something in my English friends who all had school uniforms.. they all to this date have problems wearing the colour that their uniform was does this apply to you

Guest guest
Our school uniform was maroon and grey. (maroon blazers, berets, YES berets and we had to wear them!!,) ties, and grey skirts. Our summer uniform was a maroon and white striped dress. I have never worn maroon since, and grey is not my fave colour either! Guest guest
Well - I do find that that red gingham check doesn't suit me!!! And also i steer clear of grey pleated skirts with white shirts. Guest guest
Ours was maroon and grey with full length tweed cloaks, no summer uniform - although we didn't have to wear the cloak! Uniform had to be worn traveling to and from school - even for exeats and half term, and even in the sixth form we weren't allowed into town without our uniform on. One girl got suspended for having her blazer over her arm rather than wearing it - it was the middle of June so a woolen blazer would have been a bit hot! http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/ ruthie@... wrote: > Our school uniform was maroon and grey.
