Guest guest
, is the 50 mcg all of the selenium all you are taking in the day? That is a very tiny amount. I have been taking 200 mcg, and I don't think it is enough for me, so I am stepping it up to 300 mcg. I was feeling very hyper, had low TSH, pretty high free T4, but pretty low free T3. I think this is due to low selenium. Are you taking adequate zinc? Zinc is important for producing enough thyroid hormone as well. I find 's site very helpful- www.ithyroid.com. It is geared towards hyperT, but he has included tons of info for hypoT as well. -Olif

I'm taking 2 tablets of OptiZinc per day. (60 mg Zn, 600 mcg Cu, I'm 140# lbs.) > I find 's site very helpful- www.ithyroid.com. Maybe that is contributing to the chest tightness and elevated pulse. Thanks,

I was told to take 200-400mcg a day, because your body needs it to convert T4 to T3.--------Jackie > Are you taking adequate zinc? Zinc is important for producing enough thyroid hormone >as well. They tell you at NTH to get it up to 70-90, Andy says 30-70. I didn't look at the website mentioned above, so not sure what they say. Mine was a measly 4 two years ago, only 12 about a year ago, and now is up to 51. I started taking a highly absorbable form of iron earlier this year, along with plenty of Betaine HCl with meals, and plenty of antioxidants, and it is now finally coming up.--------Jackie ---------, in your original post you also mention not being able to snack during work. How about a handful of nuts, would that work?---------Jackie Thanks,
