Guest guest
Leyla: Thank you so much for your message. Istanbul - it is amazing how we all come together on this group. And very impressive that your sister in law is on the same chemo plan. Thank you again and best wishes for you and your sister in law. in California In a message dated 10/2/2005 1:21:31 AM Pacific Standard Time, eleyla@... writes: http://www.cancerbacup.org.uk/Treatments/Biologicaltherapies/Angiogen esisinhibitors/Bevacizumab Hi , The above link is but one that comes up when you search for " avastin & bruising " in google. Unexplained bleeding or bruising is listed as a possible side effect of avastin, and they advise you to inform your doctor. As my sister in law is on avastin, I have been reading up on it. She finished her 3rd round of avastin ,( 4th with folfox) but did not have this symptom so far. It is also confusing that side effects may include clots AND / OR bleeding. Drs sometimes perscribe blood thinners ( coumadine ) which would add to the bleeding risk. A tough balance to strike . Mehpare is not taking blood thinners at the moment.. Excuse me for not being " up on things " and I don't have time to go back thru the messages....but do you have liver involvement?? Glenn has these tiny " bruise-like " creatures mostly all up and down his arms. Once in a while, he gets them on other parts of his body. If he accidently scratches or hits the area on something (which I don't know how he would do sitting in his lazy boy...LOL) but they bleed very easily and then form a scab. There is a name for it, but be darn if I can think of it. We were told it was from the liver problems. I'll look thru my notebook and see if I can find the name of it for you. Bring it to your drs. attention, of course. But as far as we know there isn't anything you can do about it. If you find out anything more, please let me know, too. I'm so sorry this is happening to you, if it's the same thing...it's not very attractive. We are so disappointed, we are missing all these great weather wkns. in our 5th wheel. But still hoping to get in a few trips before bad weather....Come on, Glenn, get better and stronger!! Darn it!! LOL Glenn has not taken chemo for about 6 mos., so his spots are not from chemo, so it may be something entirely different. I sure hope so for 's sake!!! Guest guest
Hi Donelle. starts a new job Monday delivering potato chips in a big truck, he'll get 2 days off a week usually, but only Sunday and one day in the middle of the week and no vacation for a year. I wish when Glenn felt better, I could say yeah, come up this weekend and camp, there are alot of campgrounds, but we wouldnt have much time to spend with you, of course, here in Gettysburg there's lots for you to see and we could visit while you're here. I sure hope he gets feeling well enough that you guys can take this trip. That would be wonderful. We've been together for almost 5 years now, wow, and we've yet to go away on vacation, between jobs and pets we just cant get away together. Luckily we are very content staying home. ~Dianna Grandmommyandme@... wrote: In a message dated 10/2/2005 8:46:47 AM Eastern Standard Time, jasonsmom285@... writes: My mom gets those spots all up and down her forearms, she did for a long time before the chemo and it was worse on the chemo.
