Guest guest
<> Sorry I do not want to be the voice of doom here but can I just point out that whilst you can get 3 car seats in the back of a lot of family car's the majority of them are not designed wide enough to do this SAFELY. (as far as I know the Picasso is the only one who is wide enough for 3 2nd stages though my sil did mention she had seen something about a Volvo but she was not sure what one) The thing is that a lot of people seem to think that as long as the seats are put in and they can close the door's things are ok but there is a lot more to it than that. And if you go to a place where they check carseat to see if they are fitted correctly you will be told that 3 in a row like that is not a good idea. Most car's that has a 3 point harness in the middle can cope with 2 2n stage and 1 baby seat (such as the Rock a tot) But a booster seat is wider than that and unless car is specifically designed to deal with 3 seats at the back it is not a very safe option to put 3 seats there. (far better of having one at the front then and either you or dh at the back) Sorry I have a real bee in my bonnet about this as it is actually a way of endangering your children's life that a lot of people do not realise. Incidentally I went for a carseat check when Eloisa and Phoebe was both in a Britax Club Class extra (Phoebe facing forward Eloisa facing back) I arrived at 12. 30 pm and I waited for 30 mins to be seen then got checked and told that the seats was fitted fine and also got told that he was pleased to see that Eloisa was still facing back (7 months at the time) as he said that people turned the seats far to quickly. I thanked him and then (being nosey) asked him have you had a lot of incorrectly fitted seats? he looked at me and said yours is the first today that I have not had to do some sort of adjustment to..... (I found that REALLY scary) Also please with all this car buying talk. please remember that not all car seats are suitable for all car's so email or phone your car seat manufacturer and ask them. (personally I found asking the car dealers hopeless of the car's we looked at only Honda and Citroen knew about what seats was suitable) Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already.
