Shampoo and hair gel containing EDTA

Ok, never thought about it until recently. But at one point I remember

reading the ingredients in my shampoo and hair gel (and I looked again

this morning) and they both contain EDTA, one is something like

disodium EDTA and the other was tetrasodium EDTA. Is this the same

EDTA that Andy mentions not to use? (Though I don't take it orally)

What problems might occur when using this product, if any, where one

has mercury in their body? Might this throw off a hair test?
