Funny thing is, I said to my father earlier this week when we'd popped in for a fleeting cup of coffee visit (no time for lunch) thati regetted ever saying I was bored during school holidays when there are so many things I could do now that I haven't time for, and some of them I could have done then. Here's my wish list for extra time each week to do : Visit friends: There are so may friends, old an new that I could go and see, including (guilty here) one family friend who only lives a couple of miles away in the next village who lost her husband recently. Then there are some retired neighbours who keep saying pop by when you are passing: we wave and never do. Read: Rather than or Six Dinner Sid there's all the books I'd like to get out of the library and read rather than just return the day before getting fined. Swim: I'd also like to get back into swimming/lifesaving and loose the flab as opposed to splash in the paddling pool with Tamsin. Sew: In my teens, and right up until I had carpel tunnel when pregnent I used to make loads of my own clothes. I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't churned out even 1 item for my now 2 year old, and being a fabric hoarder (can't see a nice piece without buying a bit) its not as though I don't have the resources in the loft. I've also got a roll of fabric for the lounge curtains that lurks behind the sofa... The nearest I get to fabric is cutting up bits for DD to glue as collages, or to drape around her as scarves or play peek-a-boo. Walk: we rarely get beyond the swing park or Waitrose these days. Keep meaning to take Tamsin down to the ford to splash in the shallows, or across to the riding stables as she loves horses - but then I have an excuse as the ford was impassible until recently and the footpath to Giddy Bridge has only just been re-opened And thats aside from spending more time on the computer, I'd love to learn more about some of the programmes I've got and only tinker with. However if I had the time I'd probably spend more time on here with you lot! Miranda www.twinkleontheweb.co.uk
