Guest guest
Went to endo today and she reduced my PTU from 6 pills a day to only 2 a day in less than 2 months on it. I told her it was because I stay off the iodine and use uniodized salt and have reduced my salt alot. Stay completely off unprocessed foods and eat veggies, fruit and nuts, goitrens and blueberries especially. I get the frozen ones and throw them in my frosted mini wheats which has 0 salt. Excellent. Eat only real oatmeal not fast kind. I know this group saved me big time. The doctor cannot believe it. I was moderate Graves in August and have only taken the PTU about 2 months. She says I am normal and going hypo so will watch it but a tiny concerned about my liver panel. I was taking some antibiotics and she thinks that may be it. I think I will start drinking a ton of water. Not sure if it will work but I would think that alcoholics damage liver with alcohol the opposite has some value to it. People praying for me also has worked I believe. LoL Sandy
Guest guest
Hi Sandy, Congratulations on a job well done. PTU and many other drugs can raise your liver enzymes, but this is entirely dose related. If the change in liver enzymes is from PTU, your levels will decline with your reduced PTU dose. You're doing great with the lifestyle changes, Happy Holidays, Elaine
