Guest guest
>>> Staying in the house today waiting for the call re scan appointment. One last thing - I am so angry that I know what the term 'going postal' means now. Jan >>> Jan, this list will be wonderful for you and your husband. The people here are so helpful and informative! I can understand your anger! I mean, I know everyone needs vacations, but come on.... my gyn/onc did my emergency bowel resection and left on vacation. The 'stand in' doctor gave me antibiotic drip that I was allergic to....even had the bright red armband on telling him so! when we figured out that was what I was getting and told them to unhook it, I got the lecture of how I was taking my own life into my hands, etc.,etc......I just rolled my eyes and said, pull the dang thing. It is very frustrating. It sounds like you are a very good advocate for him in getting around the medical system....keep at it!! You go!!! nancy j ---------- No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
You have my prayers and my sympathy. Why must we have to deal with less than understanding docs at such crucial times? Bully them until you get what you need! Sharon -- In colon_cancer_support , " " wrote: > I've been lurking here over a week trying to get up courage to post so here > goes. Guest guest
Jan, So sorry you meet you here because of cancer. But am glad you finally posted. I am sorry that your husband has colon cancer. But perhaps it is caught early enough and it will be curable with surgery. They cannot stage it till they do surgery and see if there is lymph nodes involvement. This is not a death sentence. You will still be able to enjoy your retirement with your husband. There are lots here who were considered terminal and have come through this just fine. They will post here later and tell you about it. I am considered a stage 3 with a recent reoccurance. Not sure what will be recomended yet for this since I am still healing from the surgery. I cannot believe the run around the doctors have given you and your husband. They just make way too much money and can enjoy vacations more often then normal people. But then they may need the vacations from all the stress of working with so many sick people. Who knows?? Hopefully all this will be resolved and they get your husband into surgery and get that cancer removed. Until you talk to a surgeon you will not know for sure what will happen and if he will need a bag or not. And alot of that will depend what happens once the doctor does the surgery. So please do not fret until all this really does happen. If you have questions please post here and ask. A lot here have been through this and can tell you what to expect. You as a caregiver to your husbband will have a very bumpy road in front of you. I feel for you with this. You will need to be strong and yet the constant worries. Come here and talk to us and find some informtion. Take it one day at a time. I will add you and your husband both in my prayers.
