Guest guest
Hi! I called MB to let her know what happened when was with me on Fri. night. While eating supper with watching on, she found she could not get any response from me in any way for a few seconds, then said my head fell backon the couch and went out. She quickly took all the food out of my mouth, and cleaned it all out and had me spit what I could. I could not comprehend her or what she as saying. She went and got morphine. Called Hospice head nurse, they came about 45 min later, took vitals, a lot of crackling in back, heart good, b/p high. I had asked her before I ate to please give me 2 tylenol, I had a splitting headache. She did. Then I told nurse it hurt really bad on the left side of my head behind the left eye area. Soon disappeared with tylenol. She looked Earl and I in the eye and said, you have had quite a hard road , but you must rest now for a few days. You probably had a TIA stroke indicating there may be more coming or NOT. Can't tell those things and Hospice doesn't bring in " tools " to test, if you get me. As it turned out, I was ok. Yesterday I puttered around the house, Earl had to take a Pto day and stay home with me. I seemed fine and he did all the work as usual. Made me a lovely breakfast, and was wonderful to me. The Nurse looked at us and said you are not going to get any better Lou, and so don't expect it, I understand that very well, but I still have that inner joy of knowing I am willing to fight as long as I can. I feel happy, marvelous and getting ready to eat a nice crock pot chicken dinner I put together today. I feel so blessed to have come out of this as good as I did, but she said to just continue what you do and we will deal with it as it comes out way. She was so nice and really knows her stuff. But now she changed my morphine, xanax and tylenol to every (2) hours instead of 4. She knows it will make me more comfortable. Just sharing this as I know if one of you go through it, this might help a little. I feel very well today. I LOVE YOU THIS DAY.
