From the book I see he meets rule #1, but since his lead and mercury were in the " safe zone, " I am not sure what it means. ------------Yes, he meets rule #1, which means he has deranged mineral transport, which means a high probability of having mercury poisoning. Mercury causes DMT, and usually shows as low hair mercury in these cases, so that's why we look for DMT using the counting rules. Your son's very low hair mercury is a sign that he is retaining it and can't excrete it. His lead is low on his hair test, but if you know he had exposure, I would be concerned about it. I believe that HTI says that if you have an all low profile, then your toxic elements may be understated also. But, if you plan on chelating anyway, DMSA will take care of mercury and lead, so it will be addressed by the DMSA. The elevated bismuth will also be chelated by the chelators that work for mercury, according to HTI. Possible sources are diaper rash ointment, stomach remedies such as Pepto-Bismol, and cosmetics. HTI does say that bismuth can cross the placenta during pregnancy, so that is a possible source for your son, if your wife wears makeup. Otherwise, I would check the diaper rash ointment. Really high titanium is usually from surgical implants, but Andy also says that it is one of the things that often goes up with deranged mineral transport, so that is probably the case for your son, since it is barely in the yellow. Other toxic elements that can be elevated with DMT are aluminum, antimony, nickel, tin, and titanium, and less often, arsenic, bismuth, and silver, so this may be what your son's elevations are from. (All pointing to mercury.) Having only 5 bars go to the right, means he has an all low profile, which means he's not absorbing his nutrients well. So he would probably benefit greatly from some digestive aids, like enzymes, and I'm not sure if they give extra stomach acid to kids or not (you might want to check on Autism-Mercury, where you would get lots more age appropriate help). Here's a link about enzymes, that I know is connected to the A-M group: http://www.enzymestuff.com (I think I got it right.) His Ca/P ratio is low also, almost out of range, so this is a sign that he is a fast metabolizer, so he may need to take the chelators more frequently, like every 3 hours instead of 4. This also suggests a need for digestive enzymes, so I would certainly look into that. This ratio also say that you may need a high fat diet and lots of Vit D. But I think the digestive enzymes is the most important thing right now. You also mention a very poor diet, and maybe the enzymes will help with that. Also, there is a file in the Files section, written by Andy, about how to pick the right diet for your kid, so I suggest reading that. And you may want to join Autism-Mercury, because you could get advice from alot of parents with kids 's age, about diet, supplements, etc., that would be more age appropriate. Not that we won't help you, we'll try, you just might get better help with some things over there. Although, some of those parents are on this list also. Ok, I think I blabbed at you long enough! Hopefully or somebody else which catch anything I missed. Good luck with .---------Jackie We DID have elevated lead levels in the water in our previous home, and I touched based with TK too late too realize that the Brita filter would not remove lead properly. Still, we did run our water before drinking. Thanks in advance! - JB Messages in this topic (4) Reply (via web post) | Start a new topic Messages Change settings via the Web (Yahoo!
