I'd forgotten that today was going to be it's first flight and it is lovely to see it again. I know the crash was awful last year, but I would like to go on it one day..... (wishful thinking!) And also when the BA one came here to do a low level fly past at the air display escorted in by the red arrows Caroline Jersey > It's just flown over the back garden! So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already.
Guest guest
When I worked in London I used to cross Parliament Square at the same time every evening as Concorde flew over the top. It was amazing how everyone just used to stop and look up, really magical. Guest guest
When I worked in Reading (just up the road from Heathrow), if I stayed late in the office, which was fairly frequent pre DS, Concorde flew over at 7.15pm every night. Despite being a double glazed office, you still had to stop conversations whilst it flew over. Guest guest
When I lived in London, under the incoming flight path (quite a lot to do with why we live now in a flight-path free part of the country) we used to feel/see Concorde about five times a day - and my next door neighbour used to say it was his wife's new boyfriend!! Guest guest
Yes - that is just about where I live - we have been very pleased not to have it flying over just as the DKs are dropping off to sleep! So, killjoy that I am, I'm not too pleased to see it back in the sky! We live less than a mile north of the Thames (and therefore of the landing flight path) and Calvin (18 mo) takes it upon himself to point out every plane that he is lucky enough to see. Unfortunately, he only started noticing planes after the Paris crash, but before that, the Concorde was the only plane I would rush to see and point out to *him*. Sigh. But even a mile away, it was pretty loud. I would hate to live right under the flight path. Phyllis (we ain’t got them big, fast planes where I come from) __________________________________________________
