Guest guest
Hi Friends, Well, I thought ya'll might like a little chuckle....as some of you know, I recently had labs done. They were as follows: TSH 3.8 Ranges 0.30-4.50 > > T4 free 0.77 Ranges 0.8-2.0 > > T3 uptake 25.3 Ranges no idea > > Total T3 95.6 Ranges 86-187 Looks hypo, right? So, the doctor's office called me after they came in to ask me if I was still on Tap. Don't know why I wouldn't be, but anyway...I had already reduced from 10 mg to 7.5mg because I felt pretty certain I was hypO. So I talked to the nurse and she said I needed to make an appointment since it's been so long since they've seen me. I made an appointment for Dec. 18th and got my lab results over the phone. The nurse told me to just keep doing what I was doing, the 10 mg. a day. Holly, Elaine, Terry and others helped me out and I felt good about reducing my dose. (Changing TSH ranges and all that). Anyway, today I got home from picking up my kids at preschool and there was a message on my answering machine from my doctor's nurse saying that the doc looked at my test results and thinks I should reduce the tap to 5 mg a day (taken once a day) and that I MUST make an appointment to see her. HMMMMMM...I made the appointment about a week ago. And HMMMMMMM, she just NOW looked at these labs???? I wonder why, after all this time? Anyway, so here I sit, half laughing and half annoyed at this, wondering what to do. I reduced and have been on 7.5 mg, divided into two doses, for about a week or so (I think, maybe it's been more like 10 days). Anyway, should I reduce it again, down to 5mg? Is it too soon? I want to go slow and not mess anything up. But I do still feel tired and a little hypO, you know. Any advice would be welcome! Thanks, Kristi diagnosed Dec.2001 Thrown into hyper/hypo rollercoaster hell by incompetent doc.
