Guest guest
> Caro - don`t get frightened by this - it is an 'urban legend' .......see > http://www.snopes2.com/horrors/drugs/bluestar.htm On the subject of drugs, Steffi (4yo) and I had a chat about 'bad drugs' last week. The subject raised its ugly head as we saw someone getting busted near Melbourne's main railway station. We had to wait ages to cross the road and there were three police officers, the person's belongings spread out from his rucksack all over the pavement and latex-gloved coppers opening little paper packets they were taking out of a plastic bag. Drugs are pretty rife here - every public toilet, including those in department stores, has a needle disposal unit. The toilets at the main stations in and close to the city have UV lighting so that users cannot see as easily to inject themselves (UV makes it difficult to see them blue vein). When I first got here I was horrified. Now it's just a way of life to see this stuff and I don't know whether Australia is just being more upfront than the UK about the problem. -- Sue
