Guest guest
[sue] Oh dear. Try contacting the company that you bought the carpet from - you might be able to get just that patch changed and they'll heatseal/stitch it in so you don't have a mark there forever. Shouldn't be expensive, esp if they have a remnant - might even cost you less than your excess would have. We had the entire flat in London carpeted in the same stuff and had the pieces for each room sealed together so we didn't have to have those brass/steel bars which we loathe. -- Sue Melbourne, Australia ---- Oh yes that's a jolly good Idea, I've contacted the firm who put in the carpet and they are going to send a man around to have a look and see what they can do. Oh I do love this group you all have such good ideas. :-)))) Tupman Mum to Matt 13, 10, Jonty 22 months & Phil 36 NCT Houseswap Register Coordinator Go placidly amidst noise and haste. Guest guest
It was the last thing I was working on before I left but it was actually enormously hard to do because the wordings have to be legally watertight because however you word something, someone will always launch a test case to " prove " that it was covered (and I mean ridiculous things not the " normal " claims that you set your policies up to cover). We had someone who put all their possessions on the roof rack (no top box just suitcases with a bungy clip) the night before going on holiday and left the car in the drive. We thought that was pretty careless really when he claimed for the lot that surprise surprise had been nicked overnight but the policy wording didn't allow for us to refuse it. I used to get really cross when people accused me of trying to interpret policies to refuse claims, it was the bordering on fraud or rank stupidity ones that we were trying to avoid because at the end of the day its the policyholders who end up paying more for their insurance. Having said that I've come across companies with a pretty dodgy attitude to claim paying so I'm not saying the industry doesn't deserve its reputation Lesley ANT, tr BFC, Mother, Wife, Friend, Mender of Broken Hearts, Keeper of Secrets, Chauffeur, Cook, Maid, Writer.
